From the 1st October 2015 there will be a Dispensing Feescale change. Below highlights the change from April 2015 to the change effective on the 1st October 2015.
April 2015

Feescale Change - October 2015

The changes can be summarised as follows:
- The amount of money set aside for dispensing fees for 2015/16 has been set at £176.1 million ( £174.2 million for 2014/15).
- The fee boundaries have been increased by 1.42%. This equates to the average volume increase in the number of fees paid over the last 2 years.
- The dispensing fees for each band have dropped by an average of 5 ½ pence
In order to maximise the dispensing fees received by the practice consider following the tips below:
- Spread practice scripts evenly amongst your GPs to ensure you achieve the highest band of payment across the board (as the fees are calculated separately for each GP who has prescriptions submitted).
- Look at the frequency of your repeats – maximise the number of scripts by prescribing 28 days & 3 month cycles instead of 6 months for items such as the contraceptive pill
